You know it's bad when you're tempted to go beg people to read your book...

@crackhead2023 Yeah, I have noticed that fanfics do a lot better on this site than original fiction, unfortunately. And yeah, it can be pretty daunting to actually continue writing past first drafts. But I'm sure what you have is really good ^_^

@GraveyardSiren Depends, honestly. I had a different account with a fanfic (only 7 chapters) reaching 10K reads within the week, still ranked higher than a 150 chapter fanfic that had about 500K (it has been going on for 4 years now and the author is as 'big-name' as it gets) but the readers were petering down on that one. I was just annoyed at myself because I've been showing friends the draft of the rest of my story over and over again instead of actually writing more...

@crackhead2023 Wattpad can definitely be a great tool to find other authors who write the same genre as you, but the unfortunate side of it is that people on here (mostly) tend to read books that already have a lot of reads instead of checking out smaller named authors. I have a book on here that soon will have been on here for three years that's barely at 18K reads while other bigger name authors who have had their books out for a few months are already at 100K. It's just unfortunate that people don't want to check out new authors' stuff.
