When you have an assignment to write a screenplay and you decide to use a short story you wrote for a different class, you really start to see firsthand why movie adaptations are never entirely accurate to the book even when the author is actually closely involved. Part of it the flow of written word being different than visual and spoken narrative (an example is that my story has three flashbacks, actually technically could be considered four or five, but the whole thing is only 16 pages long, that’s just too many flashbacks to include in a short film that length without being annoying). Part of it is just realizing there’s things you would have done differently if you could rewrite the story from scratch.

Genuinely people who complain about a lack of spoiler warnings for things that have been out forever make me so mad. Multiple people were just complaining on Instagram that they got spoiled that Midnight dies and that the poster should have out a spoiler warning. That happened almost four years ago in the manga (chapter released January 2021) and almost two years ago in the anime (episode released January 2023). Nobody owes you spoiler warnings for old news just because you’re a new fan, do what the rest of us do and simply don’t interact with the fandom until you’re caught up.

@vexywexypoo I feel like when you get into a fandom that’s ongoing and insanely popular, you have to expect to get a spoiler or two. People on the internet will want to talk about new things even though you aren’t fully caught up. I got literally all the BNHA plot points spoiled because of how I got into it in the first place (my best friend made me watch gacha life reaction videos with her in middle school, those made me start reading Dabihawks fanfiction despite knowing nothing about the characters, I found one fanfic with Natsuo Todoroki x Shigaraki as a side ship and I wanted to know more about those characters specifically because I knew all about the Todoroki family already and I knew Shiggy was a villain so I started watching the anime). It is what it is

@p3nguinlord I mean yeah but that’s boring when we could have the tragedy of Achilles and Patroclus being reincarnated as these two girls and thinking their lives are going to turn out different only for them face the exact same fate again (except without Clarisse dying, which adds insult to injury because at least the first time they were together again in the Underworld, not that Clarisse or Silena would know that)
