Frustration rushed through Coen, his fingers curling into fists at his sides. Beneath his rain-soaked clothes, a warmth pulsed inside of him. It was something that was dangerous and alive. The man took another step closer, his smirk widening like he was about to swing.
“You really want to see?” Coen growled.
The air around him shifted, the temperature rising to make the area feel muggy. Steam began hissing off of his clothes as the rain contacted the heat that began radiating off of him.
A soft orange flow sparked at his fingertips, flickering like a candlelight and then soon, it burst into a full flame, dancing as the wind blew violently. The light from his fire illuminated the area.
The man froze, a look of fear flashing on his face.
“What the hell.” One of them stammered, stumbling back, and falling as he slipped in the mud. The taller man dropped his bottle with a sharp crack, he glass scattering in the dirt.
Coen stepped forward, his eyes glowing faintly in the firelight, the flames dancing up his arms as it spread across him. “So, what’s the plan?” He asked, a smug look on his face.
For a second, they seemed as if they might run, but the taller one gritted his teeth, pulling out a pocketknife from his coat. He held it low as his eyes narrowed. “You think fire scares me?” He spat. “You’re just another freak.”
