I'm basically a normal person in my opinion but can someone define what normal is? 
conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural.
Guess I just answered that but "standards"... Are something that differs form a person to another ...  You could say that standards ( I hate repeating myself) give people a sense of protection to keep us from going crazy ... To keep us sane. As one of my favorite authors said (Johan Didion) in The White Album ( it's one of her books) 

We tell ourselves stories in order to live...We look for the sermon in the suicide, for the social or moral lesson in the murder of five. We interpret what we see, select the most workable of the multiple choices.
