I salute your interest in, and appreciation of, this story. I have found it appeals to those who are intelligent readers. Having a love of literary devices such as mythological illusion  and the subtle whimsy of hyperbola is rare on WP. The sexual nature of the tale also has the potential to push some reader out of their comfort zone. Not you apparently. Bravo! and thanx.
