Rogue pulled her hood a little lower, gloved fingers tapping lightly against her arm.
“You got nerve, talkin’ to me all casual-like,” she said, voice low and measured. “Don’t get used to it… I’ve got a reputation.”
Her eyes scanned the stranger carefully, taking a small step back, keeping the gloves between them. “Most folks don’t stick around long enough to find out what I can do… or what I won’t.”
She let out a quiet sigh, tension lingering in the air. “I’m curious, sure… but that don’t mean I trust you. Not yet.”
Her gloved hands flexed slightly, a subtle warning. “So… tell me. Why are you talkin’ to me, anyway? And make it good — I don’t have time for games.”

ID. @SouthernStorm- "i'll make it quick then," camila replied, lowering her arms to her sides, hoping to seem less threatening. then again, not many people could be threatening to rogue, of all people. "i know who you are, rogue, and i've heard about what you can do. my name is camila cano; i was a shield agent, now.. not so much. long story," she told the other. "point is, i'm not a mutant, but i don't hate any of you. i want better for all of you. i hope we can, at the very least, be allies."

They were already falling when Sue reached them.
The air snapped solid around their body, invisible force catching them inches from the ground before she pulled them into her arms. To anyone watching it would have looked like nothing — like gravity had simply changed its mind — but Sue felt every ounce of their weight, every tremor of pain running through them.
“I’ve got you,” she said urgently, holding them close as another field wrapped around them, shielding them from everything else. “You’re safe — I swear.”
Her voice stayed steady even as her eyes swept over their injuries, calculating, protecting, refusing to panic.

ID. @VeiledMatriarch- camila could feel her breath catch in her throat as her fall was suddenly broken, and she wasn't hurt. that.. shouldn't be possible. then again, it's not the craziest thing she's experienced. as she tried to catch her breath, she held onto the woman's arms, looking up at her. sue storm, the invisible woman. someone camila admired deeply. she really wished they were meeting under different circumstances. "th.. thank you," she panted.

The rain was light but steady, turning the street into a blur of neon and reflection. Gambit leaned beneath the flickering awning, coat darkened by the damp, eyes catching the glow like something half-feral, half-kind.
“Ain’t no shame in bein’ lost, cher,” he said softly, pushing away from the wall and stepping just close enough to be felt. “City like dis? It eats people whole if you let it.”
A pause. His gaze softened, just a fraction “just don’t get comfortable there.”
He tipped his head, studying them like a card he hadn’t decided to play yet “so. You runnin’ from somethin’… or hopin’ somethin’ finally finds you?”

ID. @BayouBastard- "i don't plan on getting comfortable," camila replied, the hood over her head causing the streetlight to cast a shadow over her face. she wrapped her jacket tighter around herself as a chill was felt in the air. "running. definitely running," she answered, turning her back for a moment, as if making sure someone wasn't following her. she sighed. "something i'm not ready to face. it's.. complicated." / already so in love with ur portrayal of him omg

/ also it's so funny to me bringing cami back every so often bc she's always different somehow. like now that i've brought her back, in recent months i've made an entire rogues gallery for her and have her backstory pretty detailed. honestly i wonder if i'll change it again at all LOL. anyway this is my way of saying that, if you'd like to plot with camila, my discord is kobra.kidding :)
