“I rarely make a habit of stepping out, so you should consider it rather flattering that I accepted your invitation, Mr. Jasper.” She let her gaze linger on him for a moment, then glanced past his shoulder and gave the man behind him a slow, knowing wink. “Though, having seen your rather lavish little lounge, I can’t say I regret indulging your invitation.” Her eyes returned to Jasper, a faint smile playing on her lips. “Now tell me… why exactly have you lured me into your lair this evening?”

When her eyes flicked past his shoulder to wink at his guard, a quiet, amused laugh escaped his nose. He tilted his head slightly, pressing his tongue into the inside of his cheek before settling a cool, unhurried smirk back on her. ] " Flattered ? " [ He echoed softly, swirling the amber drink in his glass without taking a sip. ] " Let’s call it mutual interest. And as for 'lured' ( ... ) " [ He leaned his head back against the cushion, his gaze narrowing with effortless confidence. ] " You walked through my doors on your own feet, sweetheart. You're sitting in my private booth because I run this lounge, you caught my attention, and I don't waste invitations on people who just want to be seen ."
