From what I can remember, Chaeyoung was a bit taller in the story and it was like a college AU, Mina was in some sort of dance class and was paired up with a male character for a project?

i know a similar story. but i'm not sure if it's the same story you're talking about? because it is not a short story like you said.
i remember, mina was bratty to chae at first. then they get close eventually bcoz chae saved her from a guy. they get very close to the point that chae treats mina as a her princess. then mina met jackson in an event for the first time. mina met him again while she was with chae. mina called him 'friend' even tho she just met him twice. chae was i think mad about it and warned her that she shouldn't be friends to people she just newly met. mina got mad at chae bcoz she thinks chae is trying to control her who she's going to be friends with. chae was just concerned tho. then something happened where mina was almost got harassed by bam² and jackson saved her this time(?). little did she know, it was all setup so that she'll think that jackson is a good guy and a hero. chae actually knew about this and heard about the guys' plan. she told mina but mind didn't listen to her. then they argued and chae distanced herself and so on.
i don't know if we're thinking the same story huhu. but the title of this is 'adore you' by LoyalOnce.
