this isn't a big deal, but lordy there's a reason i try to only read queer books on wattpad that have actually been written by queer people.
i think it's wonderful that straight people can create stories around gay or trans protagonists, and some of them are works of art, but some of them
some consistencies in these books in particular just peeve me a tad. like how women are depicted in some bxb stories, or the weird way gay relationships are portrayed as either hypersexual or just... deeply unhealthy.
i'm a cis guy so bad depictions of the trans experience are harder to identify, but i've had heaps of trans friends tell me specifically what annoys them in these stories. for instance, when transmen are portrayed as childish, naive or weak. it's just so blatantly obvious that they've never met an actual transman.
anyways, write what you enjoy! just don't push more harmful stereotypes into the world. thanks for taking the time to read :))
