Hey, so i’m just going to say something.
I’m no expert on this, but: if you have friends, a partner, or people who you care about, cherish them. Make them feel loved, remind them of how much they mean to you.
Don’t be a toxic asshole. Don’t. Don’t make them feel bad about themselves, criticize things they can’t help, or give them a terribly hard time.
I’m realizing slowly how much EFFORT, how much time it takes to maintain healthy relationships. It takes so much fucking conscious effort. I wake up everyday with a single thought in mind, being, “how can I make the people I love happy today.” I’m no saint, trust me. I’m just scared of losing others.
Friends, especially. As somebody who has grown up most of their life friendless, I think I have acquired a greater appreciation for them. I’m sappy. Yeah, I can be loud and boisterous and funny, but sometimes you have to despell doubts and jealousy and anxiety; feelings that all humans typically experience.
Most of all, if you truly, TRULY love/care about someone, you want what’s best for them. And sometimes, what’s best for them ISN’T you. If you can recognize that, you are more evolved than most.
Spread kindness. Not hate.
Make somebody smile today.
That’s the spirit.
