this one is inspired by twilight because while i think it is a cultural phenomenon and iconic, there are MANY things wrong with the franchise and author. so, i am working on what is essentially, a rewrite of the famous franchise with my own universe, creatures, plot lines, etc. my characters are diverse, layered, and morally gray.

mars has never been close to her father, but when her childhood friend phones her to reveal her father has been missing for a month, she drops everything to return to the gloomy town of new carthage. not long after arriving, she begins to realize that not everything is as it seems. a string of disappearances going back centuries, townspeople that act and speak like they're from another time, and eerie glyphs on seemingly ordinary items leads her to uncover the town's darkest secrets. can she find her father and the other missing people before becoming prey herself?
