Happy pride month, yall!!!

Today, a guy told me that we were "advanced social acquaintances with varying levels of ideologies towards one another." What does this mean?

          I think it's either
          A) that he likes me and doesn't know how to express it
          B) he's just bein' weird
          C) he's just trying to be specific so that I can understand what he means
          D) or that's just how he naturally speaks

@Husky_Queen_07
            advanced social acquaintances —> friends
            varying levels of ideologies towards one another —> he considers you a friend but is not sure you think of him on that level

@Husky_Queen_07 If this is who i think it is, it’s both B and D. He naturally speaks weird.

Do any of yall have any tips for writing non-binary characters? I want to write one, but I'm struggling with how to write them without sounding biased and offensive.

@Husky_Queen_07 I’m pretty sure she meant keep their pronouns consistent, get used to using they/them pronouns so it doesn’t sound stilted.

@Modern-Quill-27 Thanks! I asked someone at school today and she said to respect their pronouns, ALWAYS. I
            m pretty sure that she also meant that I can't write characters into the story who don't respect their pronouns, which makes no sense, bc not everyone is respectful of everyone else.

@Husky_Queen_07 add a healthy amount of gender dysphoria and them quietly correcting people’s assumptions of their pronouns. if their gender identity is the main focus of the story, have them question their gender and get pissed at people when they get it wrong. if it isn’t the main focus of the story, normalcize it to an extent. there will always be transphobic people, so include some of those bitches, but also include allies. and remember, gender identity is not personality, so don’t make their defining factor their non-binary identity.
