Tae was the adopted brother of Kook's biological mother. They were raised by Kook's grandmother in poverty. Kook's mother fell in love with a wealthy man—Kook's father—who deceived her into believing he would marry her. Throughout everything, Tae stood by her side. On the day she gave birth, Tae was the first to see Kook, but then Kook's father's men arrived, killed his mother, and took the baby. Years later, after becoming a doctor, Tae discovered that Kook was alive and living with his father and stepmother. Seeking justice, he entered their home as Kook's caretaker and eventually killed Kook's father and his wife. He then fought a legal battle and won custody of Kook.
After the troublesome incident with his uncle, Kook files a police complaint against him with Hobi’s help, presenting strong allegations and evidence. At the same time, Tae becomes desperate to live a life without Kook. However, he soon realizes how much Kook means to him. He also comes to understand that Kook had romantic feelings for him from a very young age, which he discovers through Kook’s drawings kept in his room. Tae starts listening to Kook’s music and constantly follows news reports and social media updates about him.
Eventually, Tae decides to go and meet Kook to tell him that he can't live without him.
