“..it’s beautiful out here.” levi’s voice was uncharacteristically quiet. his head was tilted back, bangs slightly falling into his eyes as his expression shifted into something akin to softness. his arms were folded, features just a bit kinder than he’d typically present himself. “there’s nothing truly like this anymore, i think. that’s why.. i want to cherish it. cherish something for once.” with you, he’d wanted to add. but he hadn’t.

            hanji  blinked,   momentarily  caught  off  guard  by  the  quiet  sincerity  in  levi   ’s   voice.   it  wasn   ’t   often  he  let  his  guard  down,   even  in  the  smallest  of  ways.   their  usual  whirlwind  of  energy  stilled,   replaced  by  something  softer,   something  more  careful.⠀⠀⠀⠀❛❛   yeah...   it  really  is.   ❞⠀⠀⠀⠀their  voice  lacked  its  usual  excited  lilt,   settling  into  something  warm,   something  real.   they  tilted  their  head  back,   gazing  at  the  sky  above  them,⠀⠀⠀⠀❛❛   nowadays  it  just...  feels  rare.   like  it   's   always  just  something  we   're   not  supposed  to  have  anymore.   ❞
            ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀a  breeze  drifted  through,   ruffling  their  hair,   and  hanji  exhaled,   a  quiet  chuckle  escaping  them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀❛❛   guess  that  means  we   ’d   be  idiots  not  to  cherish  it,   huh   .ᐣ   ❞   ⠀⠀⠀⠀a  grin  appeared  on  their  features,   glancing  over  to  the  other  for  a  small,   stolen  moment.

“hanji? is there something i can do for you?” the boy lifted his head from his work, mouth quirking up just slightly. he enjoyed seeing them, although he’d rather die than truly admit that. he watched them quietly for a few seconds, patient. “if you’d like something made, feel free to ask. ..even if it isn’t supposed to be available today.”
