I see a lot of writers just sneaking in mental disorders into a character just to make it cool... No. If a character has a mental disorder you don't have to center the story around it but mental disorders do control your life a little bit and you HAVE to write about how this disorder affects there life. For example in grade 7 I had a disorder called insomnia and it didn't change me completely but it changed me a little bit because I was always so exaughsted. When you don't write about the changes that these disorders do the person your dismissing the disorder as its nothing and it will go away but the truth is it usually won't so please writers when you're writing remember this.
