Hey there, I am Jaymes Roman. Thank you for checking out my profile.
I started writing when I was 11 after a good friend of mine passed away. During that time of mourning, I wrote a poem as a gift of encouragement to the family. Later that year, I ended up entering that poem into a contest and winning a trophy.
From that point on, I realized that I had a passion inside of me to keep writing. At first, I wanted to be a voice. I wanted to write motivational poetry and devotionals, pushing others to do the best for the best reasons. I wanted to cause others to question what they believed, pushing them to do their research. As a Christian teen, I would strive to write on difficult topics that no one seemed to be talking about around me. I felt that the teens my age were okay with using the phrase "I don't know" and moving on. I hated saying that I was a Christian and not being able to back that up.
Because of this drive to prove to myself and others what I believed through writing, it caused a lot of learning and growing in my life. Today, at 21 years old, I am the youngest guy to be teaching in the adult Sunday school at my church. I don't say that to brag. I say that because I am happy to announce how far reading and writing has truly brought me in my life.
After a long break from writing, I found myself having a conversation with someone who was writing a book and feeling jealous that I could not say the same. I quickly realized I have left my passion behind me, and needed to pick it back up!
Writing about theology, Christian motivation, and poetry will still be something I go back to, but I want to start writing a new genre I have not done in the past.
I have always loved mystery and thriller stories. I think it's time to write my own for a change.
Wish me luck as I attempt to bring you amazing stories with edgy endings and annoying cliff hangers. I hope you enjoy!
