I enjoyed reading your book a lot. I wish we could have more info about Lou's past with her brothers and maybe even a confrontation or reaction from them about her dissertation and their sexist behavior.
There's always new opportunities for writers around the corner :)

Sorry you did not make it to the top 50. I really enjoyed your story. Take heart,the winner of the Man Booker prize had his winning novel rejected 78 (yes 78) times so hang in there. Just found your comment on my profile and wanted to come over and say thank you for your kind thoughts.
Just to let everyone know, Scandalous Bargain was not chosen in the top 50 by the Harlequin judges. I want everyone to know how much I appreciate your support, and your enthusiasm over my story! Writing is a lonely business. Simply being here and reading all of your lovely comments has boosted my morale. I love you all, and I'm so glad I entered the Harlequin Contest, which is how I discovered WattPad. Otherwise I would have never met you all. I'm going to keep writing and posting stories here, and nurturing my friendships with you guys!

I have revised the pitch per some constructive criticism. Read this new version of the pitch, please, and tell me what you think. Does it draw you in more? Make you want to read the story? Does it have more spark?

@dallisadams Absolutely! Nice revision. I like that you used "Ari," instead of his full name here--as you had done in your previous Pitch. For me, his shorter name held a better initial Pitch flow--considering his last name and the "pep/snap" a Pitch requires. I think your paragraphing works here, too. I believe that your previous Pitch was just one full paragraph. I noticed that you used the word "know" twice in the first line of the Pitch's final paragraph. Perhaps changing the second "know" to "realize" would be better? Your choice, of course.
Those of you who read Scandalous Bargain and liked it, please consider doing the following:
1. Tell your friends about Scandalous Bargain. I need your help in this. Nothing is better than word of mouth!
2. If you haven't already, vote for the chapters you like.
3. Encourage friends/WattPad Readers to follow me. That way I can inform everyone of contest results and when they can vote again to help Scandalous Bargain get published with Harlequin Presents.
Here's Harlequin's schedule for judging the contest, and when you can participate by voting, (the steps beginning with starry hearts). During this time you can vote once a day for the periods indicated:
September 22, 2015-October 6, 2015: Judges read FIRST CHAPTER and pitch (Part I and Part II on Wattpad) ONLY to determine the top 50 submissions, but full manuscript must be posted by September 21 to be eligible.
October 8, 2015-October 14, 2015: Go to http://www.wattpad.com/user/HarlequinSYTYCW and vote for your favourite top 50 submission. The top 25 out of these votes will move on!
October 15, 2015-November 9, 2015: The judges review the top 25 manuscripts in their entirety, and the top ten finalists move forward.
November 10, 2015-November 17, 2015: Go to http://www.wattpad.com/user/HarlequinSYTYCW and vote for your favourite!
November 19, 2015: Harlequin announces the winner!
