i need help! :,D to anyone who may know Korean or is Korean, how would you spell a Korean’s character’s name? say example, the main character from Solo Levelling: would it be Sung Jin-woo or Sung Jinwoo? i can’t tell which one is correct and which one isn’t. i need help!!!
hi! like Mila said, yes, Sung Jin-Woo is correct. I would like to clarify though, that both ways are technically correct! Korean names generally will have a hyphen in the middle of their first names, but you might write it without the hyphen if you’re writing a something like a friend’s name or anything informal, and writing names with a hyphen will typically be for things like ID’s, government documents and formal things like that. <3
@MilaIsReading Mila, you’re my lifesaver! <3 i’m so relieved i have been spelling it correctly!
@danhoneyyy Sung Jin-Woo is the correct version. Almost all Korean names have a - in the middle because of the writing system, I believe. You can look up Korean idols and their real names for reference
