@HmmUhhIdk honestly it depends, sometimes it’s stuff that I would find interesting and would like to read, and others it’s similar bits from other books and stories I’ve read mixed with my own twist or a different view. For example the first book I wrote, Reunion, I had read a book of Dekubaku/ Bakudeku (anime ship) and it took place while they were still in school. I thought about a plot that could be interesting and then thought having them reunite at a high school reunion would be cool and I went with it. And honestly I’m glad I did. It’s what allowed me to write and think of so many possibilities. Inspiration can come from anything and that’s what so cool about it. One moment it could be gray then all of a sudden hit with an explosion of color.
