Title, Cover and Summary change!

Luciano has now been changed to Secrets That Haunt. The change comes with a different cover and summary.

Please note that the summary (and, by extension, plot) for Secrets That Haunt is not the same as before. It is very different to Luciano in many ways. I am keeping certain elements, twisting/changing some and getting rid of others (this includes the mafia element - I'm sorry). It still has violence and crime, don't worry - it's just not a storyline that would fit under the banner of 'mafia'. This may sound even worse, but I also feel relief now that I'm free from the story being a mafia romance. It never sat quite right with me - plus, there are heaps of mafia stories on Wattpad (and in general).

As biased as I may be, I will say that the plot of Secrets That Haunt brings me much more excitement. I may not have perfected the entire story, but I feel so much more confident than I did writing Luciano.

I aim to post the first chapter in the next two weeks (maybe a week, if you're lucky).

Please also enjoy an addition: character aesthetics and pronunciation guide!
Along with the other many changes from the original plot came character name changes. Two of the name changes were never meant to happen, but I realised my research into Italian names had been lacking the first time, and two of the first names of characters were actually last names. So they were essentially called last name last name. So I fixed that.

LUCIANO UPDATE

There will be many updates and changes to Luciano, including the title (I will be adding the ‘former’ title to the summary to help give clarity to those familiar with the original name), cover, the summary and the writing (even changing at least one main character’s name).

Just because you’ve read a chapter before the update does not mean you know the story; there will be enough change that you will be utterly confused when new chapters are uploaded.
You will know the chapter has been updated (outside of a notification stating the story has been updated) when it has a tick next to the chapter title. Once this is done, I will start posting the rest of the book.

I know I have not put much effort into explaining why Luciano has been a task and a half to finish. To simplify it, I have ADHD, which makes it hard to finish things I’ve started. Writer’s already struggle with writer’s block, so adding ADHD to the mix makes it harder to push past what I refer to as “fog and binding ropes”.

But, I love stories, and because of my ADHD, I hyperfocus on ideas for stories I have. After I concoct even the smallest little idea, they remain in my head for years, even if I’m not actively writing them or doing more than obsessively thinking about them. My love for stories (and grammar and punctuation) is why my ADHD never entirely holds me back.

You will, unfortunately, have to expect a level of slowness, not just because of my ADHD but also because I’m also completing a double degree full-time and running a business, so I am pretty busy. But feel free to nag me if it feels like there’s been too long a wait for the next chapter or update; I read Wattpad myself, so I will see the notification.

The votes and continued reads, regardless of the lack of updates, are not just incredibly appreciated but also exceptionally helpful.
I always see them, and I’m grateful that my story is considered good enough and that it helps me push past the fog and binding ropes.
