Okay, I genuinely want to know what you guys think about this.
Has everyone here watched Toxic?
Because ever since I watched it, I've been thinking about it a LOT.
I've been seeing so much negativity surrounding the movie—people calling it a disappointment, a flop, saying it didn't live up to expectations, etc.
And honestly?
I feel like the movie is receiving way more hate than it deserves.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying Toxic is a flawless movie. It definitely has its mistakes, and there are things that could have been executed better.
But let's be honest—which movie is perfect? Almost every movie has something that could have been better.
What I personally found interesting about Toxic was that, beneath all the gangster/action elements, I felt there was a much deeper story.
To me, it felt like a story about a man who spent his life chasing money, power and success, believing those things would give him everything he wanted.
And in the process, he lost the people he actually loved.
And by the time he finally understood what truly mattered to him…
it was too late.
That aspect of Raya's story genuinely stayed with me.
Especially his relationship with Nadia.
I don't know if everyone interpreted it the same way I did, but I felt there was something incredibly tragic about them. The fact that he could love her so deeply and still make choices that ultimately destroyed the life they could have had…
That hurt.
And then the ending, with the people he loved appearing before him, made me think even more about what the movie was actually trying to say.
But maybe I'm looking at it differently.
So I want to hear YOUR opinion.
