I want to tell stories. I want to portray the rise and fall of villains and heroes, I want to show you the landscapes of my mind, and I want to paint you a picture of my characters.

I am a storyteller.

I've liked reading for a very long time, but have fallen out of the practice in the last few years, and though I've always liked writing, I would always convince myself that I wasn't all that good at it.

Dungeons and Dragons has been my creative output for the last almost five years now, and it's been able to itch that craving of needing to read or write. However, I've found that Tabletop RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons or World of Darkness, although very enjoyable, don't quite capture the same feeling.

TRPGs are good and bad for the social experience they provide. It is both the hallmark and the setback of the genre in my opinion. It has its pros and cons. Being a game master of several games has itched my feeling to write, but its not writing the way I remember it.

Both as a player and a game master, you have to think as much about the game as you do the story, and although that this is part of the fun, it detracts from the storytelling a bit. Ever since this dawned on me, I've been needing to write once more. No, not write: tell.

I need to tell a story.

So, this has been bouncing around in my head. What story do I want to tell? How do I want to tell it?

I realized, that I want to tell the story of my personal campaign setting in my D&D group, but instead of as a branching story that I guide others through, I want to decide how it plays out myself. And I want to share it with others.

I will likely write more than just this though, but that is my current goal.

I look forward to telling you a story.
