Dawah (also transliterated daAwa(h); Arabic: دعوة‎‎) means the proselytizing or preaching of Islam. Dawah literally means making an invitation. A Muslim who practices da'ah, either as a religious worker or in a volunteer community effort, is called a dā'ī (داعي).
