;; sorry if this is too long ! i didn’t know what to write so sorry if this comes off more like an introduction rather than friendly :c
tsukiya had been following tanjirou as he walked through the forest , silently leaping from tree to tree .
originally , he had followed the boy as tsukiya had smelled the scent of a demon on him , but upon seeing that he was a part of the demon slayers , judging by his uniform , he had decided to stay close in case anything would happen . although , he was quite suspicious of the box being carried on tanjirou’s back , tsukiya was sure there was good reason to it .
and thank god tsukiya was there , because as tanjirou walked deeper into the forest , dark shadows took shape behind him , eventually forming into what seemed like demons . although , the most peculiar thing was that they did not smell of demon , rather , they had no scent . basically , unless the boy turned around , there couldn’t have been a way for him to notice that they were there .
so tsukiya sprung into action , descending down from the trees with his sword out to cut their heads off . after making quick work of the demons , he turned to face the younger demon slayer , parasol keeping him safe from the sunlight . “ you should watch your back more often , kid ! “

tanjirou hoisted the box higher up his shoulders with a frown .
" i think it ' s only fair to share my story as well . my family was slaughtered by demons , but my sister was saved and cursed at the same time . she turned into a demon but now everyone human she sees is like a family member to her . she ' s my responsibility , and i intend to turn her back into a human and end her suffering "
he paused .

[ @-KAMADO ] “ i’m flattered you know who i am , i didn’t think there would be much about me in those old books . “ tsukiya admit truthfully . “ nice to meet you tanjirou , and — ah ! it’s alright ! i don’t take offense to that , you don’t meet a tame demon everyday . “ tsukiya let out a small laugh , using his hand to cover his mouth . “ truth be told , when i was first turned by muzan himself , i was as hungry as any other rabid animal . “ he closed his eyes , only to see a vivid picture of the scene that happened years ago . opening his eyes back up , he continued in a voice that was not as light-hearted as before . “ i feasted on the innocent villagers of a nearby village until i stumbled on a pair of siblings that reminded me of my own sister and myself . my sister went off to become a demon slayer after our parents disappeared , but never made it past the final selection . “ his gaze lowered to the ground , and he paused for a moment . “ the sister was pleading for me to take her life instead of her little brother’s , and suddenly i just couldn’t find the will to kill anymore . “ he shrugged , a small smile present on his lips . “ i sleep instead of hunting now . of course , it gets hard to suppress your natural instinct for humans , but sometimes i just have to force myself to power through it . i don’t know what i’d do if i lost control of myself and became one of the others . “

the boy scratched at his head , trying to place the name before snapping his fingers and slapping his palm with a closed fist .
" ah ! i remember reading about you in the records ! "
his eyes widened as he took in the demon . a demon and their blood art was one thing , but paired with breathing was unspeakable . swallowing his throat suddenly dry he spoke .
" i ' m tanjirou kamado , i ' m suprised , how did you keep yourself so sane and well minded ─ "
he blushed with a start , realizing how rude and intruding the question was .
