Okay, sappy post time!

At a bit over a year since finishing my first book, my life has changed so much! I moved to the other side of the world, started a brand new job in a completely new field, and have been able to have so many new experiences that I couldn't have even dreamed of having if I'd stayed in America.

Mark Me Yours started as an escapist fantasy for my at the time rather miserable life. I didn't want the "magical problem fixer," I wanted validation for my hardships and support to grow beyond them. Writing Ryan's story was therapeutic, and the words flowed easily. Now however, my life is very different.

Life has become easy, but picking up writing again is proving to be very hard. That, and getting acclimated to life in a new country has put me on a rather unplanned and lengthy hiatus. I'm sorry to all those new readers in the meantime whose comments I missed replying to because the energy and mindset simply wasn't there.

That said, writing has been weighing heavily on my mind recently. There are characters and worlds I want to explore. I'd love to start working on The King's Prized Possession again (taken down because the vibes weren't right) and I've been fiddling with a het werewolf romance for G*N*. And, those aren't even a fraction the stories I'd like to finish some day.

So, dear readers, I ask for your continued patience and understanding. When I am able to start uploading again, I doubt there will be any regularity, especially since workload demands at my new job are rather inconsistent. However, I will do my best! And I will work harder to be more interactive in the comments again!

I don't know how many will read this, but writing it felt good. That's the mantra I started with, and the one I want to keep. I can't promise great things, but I can promise stuff that makes me happy, and with any luck they'll make some of you happy, too!

          	With sincere thanks,
          	D.P. Flowers

@deadpeopleflowers I understand and support you! I am trying to write my first novel and go in spurts and stops, dealing with self-esteem issues. The fact that you got one done and in the flow is something to be proud of. Don't force it and don't put pressure on yourself. Enjoy the creative process and just let it come. The point of our existence is the journey, not the destination. It sounds like you have already had some wonderful experiences and learning opportunities. Keep going! You're doing great!

Ugh I loved Mark Me Yours so much I need to reread it. Before reading it I knew I wanted one of my tritagonists(poly bl) to be a doctor and Scott was inspiring. I love how they weren't always horny too, especially that one time Ryan didn't wanna fuck during a prostate exam LOL You're a talented author so keep up the good work hun

Posting this world building quote from my new book because I'm seriously having a hard time finding opportunities to write recently and I need motivation:
          .。*✧♡✧*。.
"He's a bit like a skidish wild horse, the ones that live on the edge of the sands. He shies away or freezes when you get too close, and when you lure him in with treats he approaches cautiously before snatching it and running off to a safe distance again. Yet if you ignore him, he'll come to you of his own accord. And despite what he says, deep down, he must truly know how magnificent he is. The way he carries himself, the surety he has in his body and it's abilities, surely somewhere inside he knows his worth is in more than his appearance. I know I brought him here for a reason, and I know I didn't truly give him a choice, and yet I find myself wanting his companionship outside of what's considered obligation."
          .。*✧♡✧*。.

I didn't die!

I'm finally getting settled in after my international move and have been thinking hard on my new book. I hope to start working on it again soon! In the meantime, I also want to start replying to everyone's comments again... I missed talking to you guys!

That said, I probably won't get to get caught up with all the comments I got while I was on hiatus. Sorry!
          (╥﹏╥)
