I've been thinking about this thing for a while and it's been a little all over the place, so I'm here for some suggestions. Should I change (increase) the age of our main characters in RIHBH? I started hatching up some of the first scenes of the story back when I was 17, so writing characters who are 15/16 year olds didn't feel like much of a problem to me. But the scenes kept writing themselves as I grew up a little more, graduated high school, and finally published the first chapter last year. I'm 21 now, so writing about 15 year-olds feels weird to me sometimes. Sometimes. So I thought I should at leaaast make them 16/17 year olds (Adam'll be 16, and Aubrey, 17, since they're 6-ish months apart.) Other times I'm like nah, it's just a story. And not like my book is r-rated or something, so it should be fine, right? But then again, increasing their ages by a year will have it's own complications. They'll be juniors instead of sophomores, so I'll have to adjust some flashbacks, some scenes (eg, Parker is a junior, so Aubrey will be the same age as her), some dialogues, and some lotsa stuff. At the same time, I feel like some scenes are too heavy for sophomores, while others might be too childish for juniors. I'm stuck :'< what do you guys think?

@dearpacificday I think you should keep the ages as they are, 15 isn't that weird imo, specially because, like u said, it's not like there are any mature scenes in th book. But you do what u feel like doing. I don't mind waiting longer in case you plan on rewriting the entire thing, so don't feel pressured!

I think that your book is really awesome anyways, but, if you want to, you could change the ages to your preferred ones. However, this would make rewriting a bit longer and push back the time of chapters that you’re planning to write. But, in the end, it is your opinion.
