Debi Mason, Author, Playwright/Storyteller
Since the age of 12, Debi has understood the power of words – the power to hurt or the power to heal, the power to motivate or the power to tear down, the power to inspire or the power to bind. She is the founder and artistic director of Spoken Word Ministries whose focus is to provide enrichment to the community through performances that heal, motivate and inspire.

Debi has a heart for women’s issues and those struggling with issues of addiction and abuse. She knows by which she speaks and uses the testimonies forged through her own life experiences and the experiences of others in much of her poetry, storytelling, books and plays.

Debi has dedicated her life to Christ and seeks to minister to others through her craft. Her latest endeavors include gospel stories brought to life through monologue and scene and the writing and direction of plays that depict real life, real truth and real gospel. Her play, “Keys to the Kingdom” premiered in February, 2007 at the Lyceum Theatre in San Diego, California. Debi has two books currently in print, “Arizona Clay” which won a Best New Self-help Book Award from the Bay Area Independent Publishers Association in 2011 and What I Thought Was So Just Ain't, both of which are available through amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com.

Through her organization, Oby House Projects, Debi is developing a new project, "Storyin' With Auntie D" which are performances of original stories and classic African Folktales for listeners of all ages.
