*    faintly, morticia wonders if she should have tended to this herself.   self reliance was something she was taught from a young age and something as small as a broken finger is not what alastair should be worrying about.
            it's a thought that leaves quickly,  replaced by a barely noticeable flinch as her finger is set.    *     that must be nice.  have you never broken one ?
