I’ve only watched episode one, so if I’ve got anything wrong don’t kill me. Basically, there’s this fungus that has adapted to inhabit humans. When infected, you lose all state of control, and pretty much become a zombie, but instead of wanting everyone’s brain, your main goal is infect other people. A couple years later, there are these camps, safe havens. An organisation called the Fireflies want to tear these camps down - I think, I have terrible memory, so I might be incorrect. The Fireflies come across this girl named Ellie who has been bitten by a Clicker (that’s what they called the ‘zombies’), but hasn’t turned after two weeks after infection - typically, within two days maximum, the fungus consumes you completely, I think. The Fireflies recruit Joel, who, very begrudgingly, agrees to deliver Ellie to another Fireflies camp for a reason I can’t remember. He only agrees because they’re offering him supplies in exchange, like a car battery, and he wants to go find his friend. Obviously, it doesn’t all go to plan, and chaos reigns …
