Just starting out with writing and started working on short stories. I have always enjoyed apocalyptic stories heavily focused on human survival; whether it's zombies, war or end of the world scenarios. Same goes for movies. Hope to gain some experience from peoples comments and I will hopefully give someone a good read.

Favorite book series has to be the Morningstar Strain series by Z.A. Recht. Was blown away by the quality of the third book that was made by the fans. When writing Searing world, I have the charterer development from this series in the forefront of my mind. 
As for movies if I had to pick just the one (very hard) this would be The Road. Where I found the book to be amazing , the movie was sublime, if not a tad depressing!
