On a shelf
in my heart
there's a book
I call "me."
It's not an open book,
often hard to read.

There are
hopes for tomorrow
tied to reminders
of yesterday,
unnecessary risk
and words I don't know how to say.

Hidden plot twists
just waiting to be read,
trapped between the pages
where the ink of life has bled.

It will leave your head spinning
yet strangely satisfied,
limited edition,
only one
of its kind.

Hi guys, I'm Deshka!
I like writing poetry and eating Chinese food.
I dislike mashed potatoes and loud noises.
My greatest triumph in life was getting a real crocodile head (from New Orleans!) at a garage sale for $5. I have come to terms with the fact that nothing I ever buy will be as cool as my pal Mr. Darcy the Crocodile.
To find out more about me, be sure and check out my collection of poems called "Self Portrait."
