it was quiet — too quiet. usually, albedo was the type to prefer the silence, but this time.. something felt off. perhaps it was because recently, he’d been growing close to her.
he’d told himself he’d never allow himself to get close to very few people. so how had he let his emotions take ahold of him and force him into this position?
a stupid decision, really. he paused in his alchemy work, casting his eyes downward for a second. “do you ever wonder.. what would have happened if we never met?”
the question is one the chalk prince had had on his mind a lot recently. he’d changed, quite a bit — he smiled just a bit more, his face no longer hid his expressions so frequently.
all because of her. to him, it was nearly /laughable/ how he had ended up feeling like this. but with the question gnawing at him, he couldn’t help but yearn for a response.
“do you think if we hadn’t met then.. we would’ve met some other time instead? or would we have simply never crossed paths?” he thought about that often.
whether or not they had met by chance, or by fate. he didn’t quite believe in either, or at least he had originally thought he hadn’t, but now he was left second-guessing everything.
especially when it came to things like this.
