I HAVE A THEORY FOR POPPY PLAYTIME!!!!!
This might sound stupid, but what if it’s revealed that the player character is one of the named employees that are featured in the VHS tapes we find throughout the game. I was always kinda bugged over the fact that the player character (who is meant to be an ex employee of Playtime Co.) is not given any role other than helping Poppy. I understand it’s a player character, but I find it weird how the player character was sent a invitation (by who I’m assuming to be the prototype) to return to the factory a whole DECADE after it’s been abandoned, and the player deciding to do so. I don’t believe that the player character was just another minor employee for Playtime Co., as why would they willingly return to the building where they used to work (which, mind you, had all of its employees just vanish without a trace) and decide to help Poppy without any seemingly protest. It also should be noted that in chapter 4, Harley Sawyer/The Doctor openly questioned why the player character would return, even showing obvious doubt that the letter couldn’t have been the ONLY reason why they came back. And I know that it’s pretty much confirmed that the player character isn’t someone that the doctor knew, as he didn’t seem to recognize them, yet I can’t help but be curious. I mean, for all we know, the player character could be the SOLE surviving employee of Playtime Co. (and this could be justification for why they were invited back to the factory under the pretense of discovering what had happened to their co-workers). Though, it would be funny if the player character really was just a minor employee at Playtime Co., and wasn’t there for “The Hour Of Joy” because they had coincidentally taken a sick day lol
