As the reunion chapter is looming ever closer, I’ve realised it’s been 10 months since I wrote a chapter where Willas and Eddmina actually interact… do I even remember how they function together???
@JacklineClark I’m VERY conscious that the reunion has been hyped up by myself that it won’t live up to expectations and I also haven’t planned it yet so I’m taking my time haha

I’ve just written a chapter of Only a Northern Song that introduces a character I’ve referenced heavily but never officially featured… any guesses?

@lefdle I’ve given it a listen and you’re so right it’s definitely Garlan and Leo vibes but it’s also reminded me of the eventual Edda/Willas reunion, I’m gonna give the rest of the Epic playlist a listen x
@dinosaureatsman then in that case I think the final song on the Ithaca saga where Penelope and Odysseus finally reunite reminds me of garlan and leonette espesscially since garlan was worried leonette wouldn't love him for what he's had to become to get home.

I did intend on taking a longer break away from uploads (especially since I’m so busy at work and still feeling a bit burnt out) however I’m so so happy with how the latest chapter of Only A Northern Song came out that I couldn’t help but post it now. I hope you all enjoy it!

I know I said I was taking a break but I’m currently writing the next chapter now and felt the need to inform you all that ultimate girl dad Willas Tyrell hates Jaeherys I and his parenting
Hi guys, I just wanted to come on and say that I’m going to be taking a short break in uploading chapters for Only a Northern Song. This isn’t me abandoning the story, this is simply me wanting to make it the best it can be, and at the minute it doesn’t feel sustainable to be finishing writing a chapter on a Friday, editing and uploading on a Saturday, then starting the next on a Sunday in the hopes of getting them out weekly/fortnightly. I have nothing pre-written at the minute and despite writing literally everyday I feel so overwhelmed that I’m not writing quick enough or doing it well enough. I work full time too and at the minute it’s incredibly busy so the time I did used to have for writing isn’t what it used to be. I’m so so grateful for all the love the fic gets and I appreciate all the support, so I really don’t want to let anyone down or for anyone to lose interest if I pause new chapters for a few weeks. All I need is just a bit of time to catch up to where I would like to be, write a few chapters in demand and have some more properly outlined, and then I’ll start uploading them all week by week. I really want this story to be the best it can be and I think if I do this it will really help in the long run.
