Unpopular opinion from an unpopular person with popular interests;
have we attempted educating the younger generations of this fandom? all we do is make fun of them for making stupid mistakes that kids make. we're all aware they're barely in middle school/junior high so they don't really know anything about history. They found countryhumans through the animation memes, which some are occasionally about history. With majority of the memes not being about history, they only see the characters and instantly liking how they look. i know this because that's how i came into the fandom in 2017. I started writing fanfics for CH in 2019 after seeing a youtuber who no longer is active advertise his wattpad. My first fanfic was a badly written x female reader. i saw my mistakes i did in the fic and tried to avoid them in my newest fanfics. Countryhumans is what inspired me to become a fucking WWII freak and help me meet my new best friend.
Young fans don't any better than to ship the characters they say in instagram, tumblr, deviantart, and youtube. They don't know much about history due to their young age and education. They probably know about some, but it's just a little bit. Because having knowledge about history is what makes the older fans people that young fans should look up to, but instead they don't fucking want anything to do with us.
Making fun of them is something we do for fun and probably don't mean any harm to them. But some people don't do it for the fun, these people do it to make them feel bad about their knowledge. It's no longer teasing them for shits and giggles. It's to see them stop doing what they like. It's harassment now.
So far, this fandom is more toxic than Chernobyl in 1986.
