BOTH THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB AND THE MURDEROUS WOLF     /       3:33 A.M.   was marked as the time of death.  though it wasn’t for his mother,  nor his family.  
            
            it was his 28th birthday.    he hadn’t celebrated.  he didn’t care enough to,  or enough to live his life the way he promised he would before.    isolation set in;   he stopped showing up for work.   coworkers just naturally assumed the weight of being a surgeon got to him after having to see his family’s bodies.       it   ..   wasn’t much of a surprise when the news came about that he had died himself.
            
            no funeral;  no one to mourn him.   he died as he had lived—-       ephemeral in the lives of many,   determined on wallowing in a pity nobody knew enough about to resolve.
            
            yet from his rotting body,  death would linger  —-   unsatisfied by the fate kaen was bestowed.  kaen died ungrateful for the breath in his lungs;  focused solely on his hatred for the life he lived.  maybe it wasn’t fair,   maybe kaen’s soul could have rested easily otherwise,   but a punishment was much needed for the deviant path he had chosen to take instead of the one carved out for a version of him that died long before his physical body.
