For a moment, she just watched him, happy with the idea that she had (quite possibly, at least in her head) ruined his argument with just one word. "Very deep, mon chéri. She looked for his eyes when he said that, registering the dramatic frown with an inquiring quirk of her eyebrow. A playful smile forming on her lips upon hearing his reasoning. "Bozhe moi <My god>, someone does need to keep an eye on you to make sure this party won't end with you at the medical wing," she chuckled, averting her gaze to the floor while resting a hand on his shoulder — she did look distant, pensive, still it was evident how appreciative she was of his presence.
"you can't leave yet." he frowned dramatically, stepping out further next to natasha and away from the party situation. he wasn't too upset to miss it, because he knew they tended to have something to celebrate quite often. it felt good to be included in something *good*, outside of the past mistakes he'd made. it almost made it worth keeping on. "who's gonna be on my side when i challenge thor to a drinking game?"

She gave him an amused look, before shaking her head to him. It was sweet and thoughtful of Clint, to come check on her, but — "No need to miss all the fun because of me. I'll be back in a moment. And make sure to give you a proper goodbye before I actually leave." still, in her eyes, she was almost selfishly asking him to stay. His company, it was always nice. The exception to the rule when it comes to her usual preference for being alone.

( she pulled him closer , somehow . her touch was gentle though , never too much but also held a sense of need . marie had wished she never left . or at least wished she had asked him to go with her . but she hadn't . she couldn't . it ruins a person , having to pick up and leave just because what they love at the time is too ) ' ' i would've come back sooner if i had known you broke your nose ' ' ( she couldn't help but giggle , knowing how motherly she was for anything living . the moment she heard , she would've been racing back , ice pack and aspirin in hand , a worried look on her face , just as she had when she lived twenty minutes away . her demeanor never changed , and she wanted him to know that )
** yes we've got another date to a planetarium in a week !!! im so excited oh my gosh (p.s. marie and clint are cute hello???)
he laughed, wanting to use the countless words in his head to tell her just how beautiful she was and always had been. he wanted to say just how much more amazing it was to see her in person, rather than having to just hope and dream. she was radiant to him, and he was like a moth to the flame. clint brought his arms around her instantaneously, maneuvering himself around the positioning to make it more comfortable. "i was always gonna let you in; i missed you. thanks for coming back."

the archer looked almost incredulous at how she just sort of sat down on their couch— staying stuck in the same place for the sake of not quite knowing where else to go. "you can't eat anything here, they'll be pissed when they get back. i think we should go."
