OCD isn't some cute little personality quirk that is used to describe being neat or a "clean freak" or however is described among the media these days by ignorant, undiagnosed individuals - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a real mental issue that people, including myself, legitimately suffer from. Not only does it make a lot of us who suffer paranoid and anxious, but it keeps is for doing every day things. Here's something to think about: Imagine that you have long piece of string attached to your back and you have to walk around with 24/7 and can never take it off. And then someone comes around and starts to chase you around a table and your string is getting tangled and you can't do anything else until that string is untangled or else everything else will just get worse even though it wasn't your fault it got tangled in the first place amd you can't control it anyway, you refuse to just use the simplified solution of just cutting the string because even if you cut it you'll still think it's there and try to convince yourself of that too. You have to untangle it or else everything will get worse; at least that's what you think. THAT, my friends, is what everyday life is like to people who have a serious case of OCD. Notice how it has nothing to with cleaning everything or arranging everything perfectly just for attention or whatnot. That's just something to ponder the next time you call yourself OCD just because you use a ruler on one of your class assignments because it will just drive you absolutely mad if the line just isn't perfect
