Hey guys I wanted to issue an update to all of my followers. As some of you may be aware I have been struggling with a bereavement since November. I haven't felt the motivation to commit to writing since. And a lot of people have complained to me about how my fanfiction is still a work in progress. But I have my health to prioritise. My mental health and physical health should be just as important. I appreciate people wanting to read my writing, but I'm still a person and I am valid to pause writing. I'm determined to get this published. But I don't think people realise how difficult it is to motivate yourself to write your work in this fandom. I have been struggling with imposter syndrome as a result. I've always worried about my fic not being as good as others and I've always worried about people comparing my work to others. And I know many other people have struggled with this too. So please be kind. I'm going to edit the prologue and cut it down as right now it's over 5000 words. But I'll let you know when I'm ready to post. I promise you that I won't give up an ageless architecture. Because we deserve to have an Irish character in a love hate relationship with Tom Riddle.

Thank you for posting this, Riva<3 Your mental and physical health should always be your first priority, so please take care of yourself and take all the time you need. The Tom Riddle fandom in general has deteriorated. There’s a harrowing lack of fic etiquette and it has been that way for years now. People need to understand that writers don’t owe them anything, especially on Wattpad. We are writing these fics for free, and it can take years of hard work and dedication to do so. The last thing we authors need is readers disrespecting us and demanding updates. We have lives outside of writing. As for your imposter syndrome, it's completely understandable! <3 A lot of the content in this fandom is just reheated nachos tbh, so it can be demotivating when you have a unique idea and see people taking pieces of it. But, despite that, I know an ageless architecture will be a beautiful and unique masterpiece and I can't wait for you to share it. Take your time, but please don't doubt yourself either! Your fic is one of a kind

The point of Roisin's character is to give an accurate representation into the life of a teenage girl in Ireland, she also has trauma that isn't romanticized or glorified. Instead she is developed into a narrative of overcoming her trauma. There have been various harmful depictions of Irish people within the works of fantasy literature, many use stereotypes that are outdated and ignorant. Seeing people reduce those who are Irish into alcoholics and an over consumption of potatoes is incredibly frustrating as it is normalising the xenophobic stereotypes against them.

I haven't updated you all in months. I promise you that I haven't completely abandoned 'An Ageless Architecture'. I have decided to not pressure myself with a publication date because I don't want to set myself up with an unrealistic expectation. I also don't want to pressurise myself with writing. I have always seen writing as an extension of a passion project. I have always had an interest in Victorian literature, especially within the gothic genre. For years I have had a vivid imagination and imagery for vampirism, my most distinct memory in my childhood is talking to my dad about a vampire character I had created. He said that I was an imaginative and creative person, he encouraged me to become a writer without me realising at the time. To me this is a passion project to what I love and enjoy writing about the most. So therefore I have decided to not rush and take my time with things because I want to enjoy what I'm doing and be proud of what I have written. As I have been struggling with my anxiety and depression on and off, I have been focusing on myself and taking breaks which explains no update. But I do have some more announcements to come, so hopefully I won't disappear for a long time again.

It’s really great to hear that you’ve set these boundaries for yourself and aren’t stressing yourself out over specific publication dates and unrealistic expectations! I find I’m the same way when it comes to setting writing goals for myself, so I fully support you setting your own pace. It’s your story after all, and no one but you can dictate how and when you want to share it with others. You truly do have incredible talent and I could listen/read about your talks on the gothic arts and vampirism for hours, so I’m very excited for AAA and I have no doubt that it will a staple Tom fic (it already is to me)!! In the meantime I hope you take care lovely <33
