I love writing. Always have.
I started writing when I was in pre-school. I remember the day - we were being read a picture book. Then the teacher explained to us all that there are people who write these books for their job. "These people are called authors," they said. Then they had us play Author - we were given large sheets of construction paper and an adult who we told our story to. They wrote what we said, as we were still too young to write, and then we illustrated the pages. No one in my class loved the author unit more than I. Most of my classmates' stories were a few pages long. Mines was the longest, exceeding everyone else's by at least five pages - which was a lot back then, for pre-schoolers at least. From that day onward, I knew I had found my passion. I told myself on that day, "This is what I want to be when I grow up. I am going to be an author." Since then, I've written more and more. I've always, since the day I was introduced to writing, been that one kid in class who turns in a ninety-seven paged short story (happened to me last year, no joke. I had to stay up until 3:30 in the morning finishing it). That is who I am.
I am a Writer. What are you?
