I've lost a bunch of files for my stories and I can't find any of them ;^; I've been stressed trying to relocate the flashdrive or folder I had them in but everywhere I look I get nothing, I had lots of outlines and chapters prepped to go over ;^;

Just feeling lots of stress lol might have to redo the files in the end

So I obviously haven't updated any stories or really been all that active on this account recently. Im really sorry I've basically disappeared.

I have outlines for my stories done, and even chapters written that could go up. But honestly life has been a real big hassle and a whirlwind of stressors. I love writing and I can come up with ideas at any point. The issue is I cant find time to write properly, and when I do have time, the motivation is next to none.

I do want to finish my stories. I want to have my rewrites done, I want to finish what I've started for once. I've grown a lot since I first joined this site, in many ways, and I'm still growing and learning things. I want to put out what I've learned and improved on for both myself and others to enjoy. But I cant say just when that will actually happen. I'll try to give updates about things more if I can, but I dont want to make promises that I might not keep.

I wanted to make this post to just, let everyone who is still interested know, I havent abandoned things behind the scenes, and that my disappearance wasn't planned.

I've got a lot that I still need to take care of irl before I can even start to make a schedule for my stories on here. A lot of personal things and such that I cant really go into on here is going on, but still. I dont want to just abandon the work I started without giving it a proper ending at least

Thank you all for staying with me these years, and thank you to all you newcomers who I havent properly greeted and thanked as well. I appreciate every single one of you and do take time to read all your comments and messages when I get the chance. Knowing that you all still enjoy my stories despite my absence is a gift and a blessing in itself <3

This is the second part if people mainly just read notifications instead of profiles:

So I guess my questions are:

          1) Is it acceptable to have trauma in books or not?

          2) Is it more based on how it's written and gone about as to whether its accepted?

          3) What kind of content do you all want to see?

          4) Is wattpad itself trying to become kids only, or is it a portion of the community? (I have not stayed up to date due to real life.)

In addition: Regarding the incidents around this site that have happened recently - if any come to mind when you read this, I admit I was not knowledgeable at all on what all was going on, so I stayed out of it. On some things that I heard about, I tried to look into it to find out what exactly was held in the books in those situations, however I kept finding people sending death threats to others, putting people down, etc. And honestly it wasn't helping myself to see all that, so I fully stayed out of those situations and never commented on them since I didn't know what was going on and I wasn't involved directly. Mentioning this mainly incase people wonder why I never commented on any specific situations around it.

I'm mainly trying to figure out why there is a conflict between what my therapists have told me regarding trauma writing and what I'm seeing online on communities I have been in for a while, as well as if I should be building a community that understands and is relatively okay with more dark and unhappy ending stories rather than what I have now. (Doesn't mean I won't write happy stories, I enjoy both and plan to publish both types.)

Thank you for taking your time to read this, and if anyone replies I will be taking time to really think on what is said before I respond, and if I have more questions I will ask.

@jhguppy123 Thank you for replying, sorry for taking so long to reply. I wanted to take time to
             really think about it.

1&2) That's what I figured, I just wanted to make sure though in case. Thank you :)
I do have another question that I thought of when I read your response - its kind of regarding both 1 &2. Is it okay to have a book solely based on a trauma - not necessarily something that's meant to really move the plot along or anything. But more as a representation of how things can happen and how it can affect a person? Like the book itself be about this certain event and getting past it and the effects from it?

            3) Gotcha ^^ Thank you for letting me know, its good to have an idea of what people are interested in currently. Both those are ones I've currently been gearing towards in my behind-the-scenes stories so I'm glad about them

            4) Gotcha, thank you for that. I admit I hadn't seen a lot of the kids only desires for most of my time on wattpad until this year, so it's likely I'm just seeing it enter the communities/areas I've been in now while it was in other areas that I wasn't in.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to all this, I really appreciate it ^^ I think I understand things a bit better now

1) Yes as long as it moves the plot along or helps develop the characters personality. People need things they can connect to on a personal level.
            2) Yes if you're using it constructively it’s a great plot tool :)
            3) I recently got back into horror but as a norm a like action/ fast-paced fast pace stories
            4) it has always been like that but lately a little heavier I think it just has to do with the next generation of writers. Hope this helped.

Bit of a serious topic, slight mention of trauma writing. This will have 2 parts cuz its long. Second part will be in replies section after this.

Is it considered a bad thing now to write stories that involve events based on your own trauma(s)? I'm asking because of a lot of things I've seen going on/around recently all over social media, and I am legit confused as my therapists have told me that it can definitely help and improve mental health to put it down whether in a journal or creating a story with characters you identify with. I have done this in quite a few of my stories (though have never published online due to my own anxieties and insecurities). Admittedly at one point I thought about publishing them for readers to read once they were edited as much as possible and seemed to flow well. However now I have no idea if it would even be accepted or if people will just come at me for it. Even if I were to put warnings on the story tags/descriptions.

My personal issue with it is, books aren't supposed to always have happy endings or be cute or anything. If that was the case, I'm sure many people would have quit reading/writing because it would end up being very bland. Maybe that isn't a shared opinion, but it's mine. But it also doesn't make books realistic if it's all happy, and I've also been seeing the idea that people want books to be more realistic and relatable.

As for wattpad itself, when I started on this site in 2012 (I believe it was), it was a site for any rating - mostly meant for helping young writers write and get feedback, and eventually maybe published. I've seen things about wattpad becoming kid friendly - is this something the company itself is trying to endorse or is this a part of the community wanting it?

Thanks to anyone and everyone who joined the stream today ^^

As for my writing, I've been working on a schedule to at least get out what I do have written for you all. You've all been so patient! So I'll do everything I can to get you guys some good chapters to read!

          Love you!

I'm thinking about bringing all my stories onto this account and only having this one for writing, besides my original stories one. My MasterAttack95 one could just be for reading. It might be easier to manage. What do you guys think?

dragonlover098

@Nicolet_24 I thought so too. I'll go ahead and start the process to bring them over. Thanks ^^
