hey. i don’t want to argue. I just wanted to share what I actually meant by abolishing reservations.
Reservations are mostly for OBC, SC/STs. OBCs have two types: CL and NCL. OBC-NCL get reservations. (CL=creamy layer, NCL=non-creamy layer).
I want the reservation system to be reformed such that SC/ST also have the CL and NCL thing, such that, rich SC/STs cannot take advantage of reservations.
That’s it.
I am against caste-based-discrimination and I have never discriminated against caste because I do not know which caste any of my classmates are, anyway. I myself got to know my caste after my JEE admit card was out.
I am sorry if I offended you in any way, or was VERY rude, I apologise. I’m still learning and I must have overstepped in some way. Even if you don’t forgive me, it’s alrght, but I must tell you this: it was.. an experience talking to you. I really liked it. It’s been a while since I’ve had a discussion like this, so uh, yeah, thanks for that.
(Again, I wasn’t against the reservation the MC of your story got, NO—i am against the system of reservation that can easily be taken advantage of by well-off lower castes too.
I rest my case, and hope you have a good day ahead <3

@thesparkwithin Now this something just on the surface there are many more scams థ_థ Been a victim of one since a year. WORST YEAR OF MY LIFE. You might have heard of neet paper leak but it's much worse than that. Idt it's good to talk about it here. Many meritorious, sincere, hardworking students are either leaving the country or world due to that. Abolishing or removing reservation ain't gonna do anything because mainly it's the vote bank and gives people power...political power... What it's to be changed is the education system, the mindset, and obviously corruption but a single person can't do anything because at the end of the day system silences them. It's a deep rooted problem. If we give more thought to this, there will be no will to live only lol. Went through that shit too. But then again even if a single person can change a single life whether it be others or just themselves then it's damn worth living for! You might have heard purana jamana wasn't like this etc... that's because people were more humane idk how to explain it but yeah... Sorry for the rant

@thesparkwithin I think MRC reservations are everywhere not only in competitive exams but for employments too. It means meritorious reserved category. Meaning if person belonging to a reserved category is meritorious and doesn't opt for reservation for the 1st round but does for the next rounds, then the sear alloted to him/her/they in general would be left right; that seat is going to be reserved for the next person belonging to reserved category the MRC candidate is from. I'll give a realistic example to understand better. There were total 4200 govt medical seats reserved for (A-cat) meaning for students under state quota for government colleges and 50% seats in private colleges for govt fees. In that around 2000 seats were alloted for general category but hardly 1200 seats were filled by general category students rest 800 are MRC. In the sense 800 seats were gone to other reserved categories. Now you might think chalo at least they might get a seat lol they don't because on paper it's counselling behind the scenes it's another story. Some no of seats would be left and that will be converted to paid seats. Now this scenario is regarding my state. Well in other states even that A cat Meaning only government funded seats are different, they are subcategorised. In the sense in my state seats in government colleges are through merit but in states like AP, Karnataka etc you have self finance category. Like you can literally get into government colleges by paying certain ___ lakh Rs. And even in my state there's B and C cat under management quota(paid seats) for private colleges. C cat fees is double the B cat fees. On paper people are from B cat but in reality they are from C cat. I think you got it.

@Uditasree wait I don’t know what MRC reservation is (cuz I only know of reservations in JEE/other engeneering exams); but yes I agree with your point that truly needy people aren’t benefitting </3
