          I just liked the idea of being in love with a man, so I wouldn’t be crying myself to sleep every night wondering why I can’t be like every other girl and just be in love with a guy. 
          
          Dreaming that my father would walk me down the aisle instead of walking me down the gates of my own home as he turns his back to me for good. 
          
          That my mother would hand me down her wedding dress as she smiles to me and cries with me as she helps me prepare for my special day, instead of throwing scriptures and prayers that I’d stop sinning and come back to Jesus. 
          
          My siblings would cry in joy instead of shame. 
          
          And id have my “happily ever after.” 
          
          But that would never happen. 
          
          Because I will never love a boy the way I love a girl.
