I don’t usually post on here because I’m a reader rather than a writer but I can’t be silent in the face of injustice. The murder of George Floyd has left me outraged, disgusted and honestly sick to my stomach. I’m angered at the fact that this has become a norm in the United States where you’re oppressed and treated differently due to the color of your skin. As a matter of fact, it’s not only the states, it’s most places in the world such as UK and China. Drastic reform needs to happen as soon as possible, America needs to get rid of that harmful, racist constitution and they need to change their education system so that children are taught to be open-minded, empathetic humans rather than racist, narrow-minded sheep. I’m from London so I’m watching the George Floyd murder from the outside, I’m also white so I understand I can never fathom what it’s like to be black in the United States. Over the past few days I’ve done everything in my power to provide justice for George Floyd. This isn’t fair. Also as someone who is white I’m perfectly aware that I am privileged and the color of my skin provides me opportunities and protection.
With that being said BLACK LIVES MATTER
also REST IN PEACE GEORGE FLOYD and I pray for his loved ones, especially his daughter who now has to grow up without a father. I pray for every black person around the world, I’m not oblivious to what’s happening, and I have so much respect for every single one of you. Thank you for everything.
