The ocean. It’s not just the sand or the pier, it’s the water. I love zoning out, the only thing there is me and the water. The first step into the ocean is cold of course. But as I wade deeper into the water, I feel protection. Protection in a sea of creatures who would kill me with the first chance they got. The line on my bored is attached to my ankle and as I ride it farther into the crystal blue abyss. As I stand on my board, my purple wetsuit captures the wind, sending chills through me. I shiver in delight, holding my balance so not to fall. As the next wave approaches, I swim towards it, meters away. I’m in awe, even though I’ve been a witness to it’s beauty before.
