A Community Mental Health Team Consultant, Dr Sadgun Bhandari is a UK based MBBS and an expert at the management of Serious Mental Illness especially Bipolar Affective Disorder and Schizophrenia. His special interest and expertise lies in the evaluation and long term management of Bipolar Disorder and in treating the complete range of psychiatric disorders such as phobias, anxiety and depression etc. His schooling education is from St. Mary’s High School, Belgium, Karnataka India.

Dr Sadgun Bhandari is a MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from India and have Diploma in Psychological Medicine from (National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Science) Bangalore, India, MD in Psychiatry from Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi, India. Later he completed his post graduate training from India and UK including House Officer and Senior House Officer in Neurology and Psychiatry respectively. In addition his extensive training includes Registrar in Psychiatry studying for Diploma with special interest in Substance Abuse and Senior Registrar in General Adult Psychiatry, Royal London Rotation.

Earlier he was a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry, Newham Centre for Mental Health, East London. This post serves a catchment area of 30,000 adults and is one of the 3 posts with a CMHT and the in- patient unit based at the Newham Centre for Mental Health. Additionally he has a wide range of experience in managing particularly complex and challenging patients suffering from psychotic conditions and treating patients with affective and anxiety disorder. Dr Sadgun Bhandari has lot of experience in teaching activities and also helping people prepare for the MRCPsych exams and also a well known writer and give his contribution to several books and articles based on “Core Psychiatry”.
