Chapter 53 is out now

I stayed silent as Di gently took my hand. Her eyes softened the moment she saw the wound. “What did Aaru do to you?” she asked quietly. I looked at her but didn’t say anything. Words refused to come out.

She began wrapping the bandage and said softly, “Whatever Aaru did to you, I’m apologizing to you, Meher.” My heart sank. “No, Di. Don’t say that. I’m fine. Please don’t apologize,” I said, forcing a weak smile I didn’t feel.

When she finished, she asked again, “Beta, what did Aaru do to your hand?” I looked down and whispered, “Di, I want to go home.” She nodded slowly. “Yeah, you’re looking tired. Take rest. I’ll ask Vivaan or Aaryan to drop you.” “No Di,” I murmured, clutching my dupatta, “I can go by myself.”

Chapter 52 is out now

I gripped her wrist tightly, too tightly, and her glass bangles shattered, slicing into her skin. Blood began to drip down her wrist as she hissed in pain, her eyes filling with tears. For a moment, the sound of her soft gasp cut through the chaos in my head.

Then… something hit me. Her tears. The fear in her eyes. Something twisted in my chest, something I didn’t want to name. I loosened my grip slowly, staring at her, at the red marks blooming against her skin because of me.

My jaw clenched. My stomach churned. My own palm had a small cut where the glass had grazed me, but the sting didn’t matter. She looked at me one last time, eyes shimmering with hurt, and ran out, leaving behind a silence I couldn’t escape.

Chapter 51 is out now

I froze when I heard footsteps approaching. My heart thudded so loud I was sure even Bappa could hear it. Aarav sir entered the room, still on a call, his voice low and calm. I hid behind the shelf, clutching the acknowledgment paper like my life depended on it.

          Then- Achoo!
Oh no. I slapped my hand over my mouth, eyes widening in horror. He froze instantly, ended the call, and turned. His eyes narrowed as he walked closer, confusion turning into suspicion.

When he crouched down and saw me under the table, both of us went still. “What are you doing here?” he asked sharply. I tried to stand but hit my head. “Ow!” I winced. He glared, jaw tight. “I- I was just… keeping the acknowledgment paper that Vihaan ji gave,” I stammered. His gaze flicked to the photo frame I had touched, and his voice dropped cold- “Get out.”

Chapter 50 is out now

I was about to walk inside when I stopped midway and turned toward the security guard. “What’s your problem?” I asked, my voice calm but edged.

          He looked startled. “What, sir?”
I stepped closer, narrowing my eyes. “What was the need for you to ask Meher about the pooja? Who gave you permission to talk to her about personal matters?”

He hesitated. “Sir, we’re like friends. I just asked her casually.”
I glared. “Stop it from now on. Do your duty professionally and keep your distance from Meher. If I see you getting closer to her again, I’ll fire you.”

Chapter 49 is out now

"Are you going to kidnap me?" I blurted before I could stop myself.

He turned, looked utterly speechless for a second, then said flatly, "Yes. I'm going to kidnap you."

          My eyes widened. "Why?"
He opened the car door. "If you don't get in now, I'll not only kidnap you, but also I'll fire you."
That was enough for me to jump inside immediately.

Chapter 48 is out

I turned slightly and saw Meher zoned out, chewing on an aloo samosa from the plate on the round coffee table, murmuring something under her breath. I ignored her. Looked back at Vihaan. “Everything-” Again. Loud hiccup.

That was it. I snapped. “Shut up!” Meher blinked out of her daze, finally realizing I was standing right in front of her. Khushi covered her mouth to hide her laughter. Vihaan too had that grin, struggling not to laugh out loud.

I turned back to Vihaan, determined to finish. “Everything-” But she started hiccupping nonstop now, covering her mouth with her hand, but the sound kept escaping. I had enough. “Let’s talk in my room,” I said curtly, and without another glance at Meher, I walked away with him.

Chapter 47 is out

I nodded quickly, ready to leave, when he suddenly stopped me. “Take your bag with you”. My heart skipped a beat. Why would he want me to carry my bag? What’s happening?

I followed him silently to the elevator, confusion swirling in my mind. Why is he taking me with him? Did I really mess up the pooja so badly that he’s about to fire me?
