I am confused about Wattpad's policies. it is not the end of the world for me that they will ban sexual content and other stuff; I archive my works. but just makes me think about how our culture is so keen on puritanism. 
          	of course, don't get this twisted: I don't think minors should be reading content that is explicitly inappropriate for them, nor should authors be glorifying and writing harmful content. but to some degree and extent,  I think literature is a way to explore identity and the culture around us, by seeing why things are wrong or why things are right.
          	
          	I am not quite understanding their thought process behind this change.

@dvtoyevsky  I’m not too sure. I’m pretty sure that they’re banning things, but the way they describe it is so loose, and they don’t provide many if not any details. Would it be too much to ask if you can make an ao3 acc? I absolutely adore your fics, but I don’t think I’ll be going onto wattpad anymore, and if u have one, what is it?

          	  “there not banning smut all together more like p without plot and smut without the mature tag but as long as the Fic has p with plot and the mature tag I'm pretty sure Fics and stories will stay up but maybe some of the fics even with mature tag with crazy stuff and dark dark Stuff will get banned
          	  SORRY I'm blabbing but that's basically the whole thing I got from looking into the new guidelines I'm not 100% sure if it's all ture but yeah”

wattpad hasn't banned smut / explicit sexual content at all. they never allowed fics which were written for the sole purpose of smut without any plot. wattpad isn't being puritan lmao they have a whole official profile dedicated to erotica

Holy shit queen you have come back? I was very active as a bsd fan years ago have been so inactive in wattpad and for some reason decided to install wattpad again to read haunted book again it left a huge impression on me back in 2022 I'm so glad to see you back again gonna check out the other books!!

Hello everyone,
          I'm so sorry for my absence here. 
          Reality has been very hard for me. But I owe some of you an explanation; it seems only fair.
          From December 2025 and late March 2026, I had my first IRL relationship. It was physically, sexually, verbally, and mentally abusive. This dissuaded me from writing; I was ashamed of writing because I could not comprehend something like this could happen to me. It was also because of him I found a full-time, time and physically consuming job at a coffee bar. This made everything worse, since everyone at my workplace had their own friend group, and excluded me from all conversations.
          My ex also convinced me to reduce my medications under the guise of it being harmful, but I believe that he did this so that he could slip more of his control into my life.
          I truly am sorry for my absence. I am writing again, trying to take control of my life back. I hope you support my endeavours in writing.

@dvtoyevsky That is such an incredibly hard circumstance, the enability to go through situations and occurrences you've never been through before but despise is such a common thing that it's scary; it is built on the uncertainity of the future and the later divulgences that are to come. I am so sorry you have to go through this, and I hope for your recovery, take your time to find yourself again, love ya
