The Karina Eide Young Dyslexic Writers Awards gives young dyslexic writers ages 7-17 an opportunity to win cash awards up to $250 and $1000 and an online meeting with dyslexic Pulitzer Prize winning poet Philip Schultz. The categories are Fan Fiction, Other Creative Fiction, and Poetry. Minimum 17 words (haiku) and Maximum 700. Contest submissions do not need to be completed works. Prizes and honors are award for evidence of promising writing abilities. Our new awards program is to encourage and inspire young dyslexic writers about their writing abilities and to honor the memory Karina Eide, a passionate writer who loved the fan fiction community and mentoring fellow writers. Because of international laws, cash awards are limited to the US, but those from other countries can win "Best of Country" award certificates and participate in the online award meeting.
