Xavier De Gris was raised on a kangaroo ranch in the Outback of Western Australia. After attending Western Michigan University in the United States, De Gris moved to Kaohsiung, Taiwan where he became a free-lance underwater photographer and part time novelist. 

"Picture Wit No Words" is Mr. De Gris' first novel. He currently teaches Shark Encounter Photography at the Taiwan Normal University in Kaohsiung where he lives with his wife and daughter.
